Hello, sister! My name is Katharine, and like you, I’m many things: writer, friend, daughter, wife, mother, bookworm, immigrant, part-time student, full-time editor, philhellene, herb nerd, depression survivor, Audible junkie, yoga devotee, amateur gardener and guardian of the Earth. All of that and more – and always in a different order.

On this little corner of the Internet, I invite you to join me on my journey here on the edge of Athens:
• practising seasonal and cyclical living
• working with the female archetypes
• learning to work with plants
• cultivating a deeper connection to the natural world.

I believe we are at a threshold – not just environmentally, or technologically, but also in our deepest consciousness. A collective shift is beginning, for the first time in millennia, towards the feminine. Women are beginning to embrace their feminine energy, rather than suppress it, and recognise its true potential. It’s exciting, it’s empowering – and it’s also pretty vague, and possibly unrelatable to the vast majority of women! That is why eartheá came into being: because I am not a priestess sitting on a mountaintop communing with the elements. I am a busy working mama of three feisty girls living on the edge of a European capital. I am nothing if not practical. I don’t just want to know why, I want to know how.

So why the name? What is eartheá anyway? Well, she’s my creation, my guide, my CEO and my heart’s home. The name comes from Earth (the English word for our wonderful blue-and-green planet, but also the rich soil from which sustains so much life, including us) + theá (the ancient and modern Greek word for goddess). At her core, eartheá reminds me that we are all sacred beings, and that we have a sacred duty to this world. She also serves as a daily reminder of the importance of our roots, our history, our culture, and our connection to the natural world.

My vision with eartheá is to enable and empower women to live sustainable lives of abundance and creativity, to cultivate connection with the natural world, and resume their place in it.

My mission is to share knowledge and practices that detail real lived experience of seasonal and cyclical living and offer practical ideas and support to women with full lives and limited resources.

I truly believe that if we step into our power and learn how to heal ourselves, it will set us on a path to healing each other and our beautiful Earth.
